STATZ Corporation was founded as an SDVOSB in 2004 by Bill Statz in Cross Plains, WI. In that time, STATZ Corp has grown to become the largest SDVOSB, and largest small business government contractor in Wisconsin for 2019 with Prime contracts valued at $55 Million dollars. Bill Statz retired in December 2019.
The Statz family has a long history in the great state of Wisconsin. His great-grandfather, along with 3 of his brothers, all 4 immigrated with their families, coming to the Cross Plains area from Germany in the 1850’s. Bill is a 3rd generation native born, all USA Badger! A number of his extended family members served in WWII, with one cousin KIA in the South Pacific, and another first cousin with a colorful and bloody battles tour in Europe as infantry, and as a jeep driver for General Patton. There were also several cousins who served during the Korean war, but fortunately, no casualties. The Statz family also lost a cousin in the 9/11 attack at the Pentagon in Washington D.C..
Our founder, William “Bill” Statz served in the Vietnam war when he was just 19. He was a graduate of the Artillery NCO Academy at Fort Sill, OK, and served in Vietnam during 1968-69 as a Staff Sergeant E6, Chief of Firing Battery. He is a decorated war hero, and sustained his disability injuries while under heavy rocket, mortar, and perimeter attacks by the North Vietnam Army. A number of his comrades are listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Bill was also selected for the Badger Honor Flight on May 12, 2018 along with one of his cousins, a Korean War Veteran.
January 2019, Mark Lyons became the new Owner and president of STATZ Corporation. Mark served 20 years active duty where he was a Cavalry Scout, Paratrooper, Jumpmaster and traveled the world for this great nation. Mark looks forward to improving STATZ corporation for our real customers, the War-fighters.
